Passionate about badminton

HSBC is proud to be supporting the Badminton World Federation, or the BWF, as the Principal Global Partner for the HSBC BWF World Tour.

Under this partnership, many of the world’s best players will be coming to Japan to compete in this year’s HSBC BWF World Tour Super750 tournament, the Daihatsu Japan Open 2024.

Our association with the BWF demonstrates HSBC’s commitment towards sports and the wider pursuit of health. Today, we are proud to be a leading partner of four major Olympic sports – golf, rugby, football and badminton.

Grassroots support

We believe in the spirit of partnership and use our expertise and international scale to help sports grow and reach larger audiences, something we’ve done for over 50 years.

Our grassroots programmes bring some of the biggest sports in the world to children and young people, and help to identify and support talented athletes.

We’re passionate about expanding the sport of badminton’s reach and together with the BWF have been instrumental in helping more people than ever before to pick up a racket.

Since 2018, as Global Development Partner of the BWF, HSBC has worked with the BWF in helping to grow the sport by launching ‘AirBadminton’, which uses a new outdoor shuttlecock with increased resistance to wind, and by opening free-to-use badminton courts in Asia to allow people to have a more positive experience of badminton outdoors.

We want even more people to pick up a racket both here in Japan and globally.
